The fastest way to report a bug

Use the app's built-in reporter — it attaches the information needed to reproduce the problem, which usually turns a long back-and-forth into a single message.

1. Open Settings → Help → Report an Issue, or tap Report a problem during a game or replay.
2. Describe what happened.
3. Choose email (opens your mail app, you press send) or anonymous (no email address included).

The app shows you exactly what's attached before anything is sent, and never sends anything on its own. See the privacy policy for detail.

Common questions

Does the app work offline?

Yes — completely. There's no account and no internet connection required to play, learn, or track progress.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us. On your device open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, then choose Mahjong Master Coach. You can also follow Apple's instructions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period runs to its end.

I paid but the app still shows the paywall.

Open Settings → Subscription in the app and choose Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase. If it still doesn't restore, email us.

Will I lose my progress if I reinstall?

Progress is stored on your device, so deleting the app removes it. If you turn on iCloud sync beforehand, your saved games can come back on reinstall. Everything else — statistics, streaks, and reading history — is local.

Which rule sets are supported?

Seven, all fully playable: Simplified (Teaching), Hong Kong, Chinese Official (MCR), Japanese Riichi, Taiwanese, Sichuan Bloody, and American (NMJL). You can change rule set at any time in Settings.

Is the American card the official one?

No, and deliberately so. The National Mah Jongg League's annual card is copyrighted, so the app ships an original teaching card written for this app. It plays the American game faithfully — matching a fixed hand from a card, jokers, the Charleston — but the hands are our own, not the League's. Mahjong Master Coach is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Mah Jongg League.

Can I use my own accessibility text size?

Yes. The app has its own Regular / Large / Extra Large setting for reading areas, plus light and dark appearance and colourblind-safe tile treatments.
